Welcome to the Will County Bar Association's website.  The WCBA is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to serving and supporting the legal community. The WCBA is committed to providing education, professional development, and service programs for its 500+ members, the legal profession as well as the local community.   

WCBA Objectives  

  • To maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of law
  • To promote an understanding of the law and its application in the community
  • To advance the due administration of justice
  • To support the ability of the Bar to provide for public service   

The WCBA also assists the local community and greater Chicago area through an active Lawyer Referral Service and backs the legal aid program encouraging its members to provide Pro Bono services for those in need.  Click here to request a Lawyer Referral.

The Will County Bar Association is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the Association’s members and maintains a professional staff committed to the ongoing support of the association and its members.   

Community Awards and Celebration

The WCBA is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s WCBA Service to the Community Awards. The lawyer award will be presented to Retired Judge and Illinois State Senator Edward Petka with the non-lawyer award to George Rydman of George E. Rydman & Associates, LTD. Court Reporters and Video. All are invited to celebrate with us at the presentation ceremony on Thursday Sept. 15, 2016 at Chicago Street Pub in downtown Joliet. Beginning at 5:00, a cash bar with free appetizers will be available. The Board of Directors would like to thank all those who submitted nominations for the awards.

Criminal Committee meeting/CLE

A 2 hour CLE presentation will be held the afternoon of Thursday Sept. 22 from 2:55-5:00 at Cemeno’s, sponsored by Smart Start Inc. with pizza following. Topics include PBT civil/criminal, CDL issues and effect along with statute and case law updates. Luncheon and Cocktail Reception

The Will County Bar Association, in conjunction with the Will County Women’s Bar Association; the Black Bar Association of Will County; and the Latino Bar Association of Will County has planned an optional noon Luncheon and 5:30 Cocktail Reception. Both will be held on the campus of the University of St. Francis in Joliet. The luncheon will be held prior to the seminar, with check in beginning at 11:30 and lunch served at noon at a cost of $30.00. The open bar and appetizer reception will follow the seminar, until 7:00, at a cost of $30.00 per attendee or attend both for $50.00. In conjunction with those events, all WCBA members are invited to attend “Service to the Public by Legal Leaders”, a free 4 hour CLE seminar on Thursday October 20, 2016. A list of presenters and timeline may be found here. Check in for the CLE begins at 12:45 with introductions beginning promptly at 1:10. We will be applying for 30 minutes of professional responsibility credit. This seminar will be held in the James and Patricia Sexton Auditorium in the Moser Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of St. Francis in Joliet (a campus map may be referenced here).
